AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo police arrested three people accused of selling alcohol to minors during a compliance operation Thursday.
Police say 14 different establishments across the city were contacted by several underage patrons to check if they would sell to them.
Of those establishments, police say 10 complied and did not sell alcohol to minors. Four establishments did.
Police say 53-year-old Yin Than was booked into the Potter County Jail for sale of alcohol to a minor from a convenience store on N. Hughes near NW 13th.
63-year-old Sherrye Dawn Mayfield-Tijerina was booked into the Randall County Jail for sale of alcohol to a minor from a liquor store near 46th and Washington.
37-year-old Keshar Bahadur Rawat was booked into the Randall County Jail for sale of alcohol to a minor from a convenience store at 34th and Coulter.
Police say a report was made about a sale to a minor from a bar on Olsen Boulevard.
“The department appreciates the efforts of those businesses that are looking out for the welfare of our citizens. The Detective Division will continue to run these types of operations targeting businesses that sell to minors,” according to a statement from police.
